Welcome!

Starting a speech can be scary. Where do I start? Where do I go to get information? How do I know if the resource is credible? Fortunately, if you go to BCCC databases, you can be assured that the information has been scrutinized both by the publisher and the library.

The links below will lead you to some really powerful resources where you will find articles from magazines, newspapers and scholarly journals. These are the sources you should really be using for college-level work. EBSCOhost is the most comprehensive of all these, and you will find a link to the database and a tutorial to show you how to use it effectively just under this box. I would start with database for all of your speeches and expand from there if your search is not successful.

You will also find the Opposing Viewpoints database very helpful for your Persuasive Speech. This database will bring you different kinds of information on many current topics, including full-text scholarly journals and credible websites.

Good luck with your research and your speeches. If you have any problems, please contact me or one of the librarians!
