Creating Links to Library Resources

This guide describes how to create links to library databases

Permalinks

A Permalink (or static URL) is a link to a particular resource that will get you to your resource every time.

When conducting a search in any of our databases, the link in the address bar is served up on the fly--and is not going to get you back to the resource later.

Within the record for an item itself will be an option to link to a permalink. These are the link you want to use when pointing back to a particular resource--prepended with our proxy url as explained throughout this guide.

Compiled here are several examples from our databases.

If you are having trouble creating a particular link, please reach out for help.

EBSCOhost New Interface

The NEW EBSCOhost Detailed Records pages contain a Permalink right in the address bar.

e.g.: https://research.ebsco.com/c/geujvp/search/details/tkoodhesyn?db=afh&isDashboardExpanded=true&limiters=FT%3AY&q=joy+of+missing+out

Then, Add the proxy url
e.g.: https://bucks.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://research.ebsco.com/c/geujvp/search/details/tkoodhesyn?db=afh&isDashboardExpanded=true&limiters=FT%3AY&q=joy+of+missing+out

Alternatively, select Share, Create Link, and copy the link. This will open the actual document.

E.g.: https://research.ebsco.com/linkprocessor/plink?id=27961ef8-4c95-3469-86c8-928cde9fe906

Then add proxy url:

https://bucks.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://research.ebsco.com/linkprocessor/plink?id=27961ef8-4c95-3469-86c8-928cde9fe906
