For students enrolled in EDUC courses or for those in the Associate of Arts: Pre-K through 4 Early Education program of study

Criteria for Evaluating Resources

How do you know if the information you find is credible? Use the CRAAPP test!

Currency = When was the information published, and Is the information current enough for your topic?

Reliability = Is there a bibliography or list of references? Or, is the information mostly opinion? Is there bias?

Authority/Accuracy = Who is the author? Google them! What's their background and credentials? If the information comes from an organization, look into the organization. What is their mission?

Purpose and Point of View = Are there ads? Are there links to other sites? What's the writing style? Is the vocabulary and style for youth, general audience, academics/professionals?
