Welcome to your Virtual Library!

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to your Virtual Library! We librarians call these research guides LibGuides, and I have created this one to guide you through the research you will be doing for your three speech assignments. Do yourself a favor and look carefully at this guide. It will probably save you a lot of time in the long run. Notice the dark blue tabs just above my head. Click on those to find specific guidance for each speech assignment. Each page will have a video to help you figure out your research strategy. These are short, but very important. On the right side of each page, you'll see a box with my picture and my contact information. Feel free to contact me if you have questions, and I will be happy to guide you. Sometimes certain topics require individual attention, and this is really no problem. Email is best. Click on the very last blue tab up there and you will see a collection of video tutorials that should answer your questions about searching most of the databases. There are also boxes to help you if you have trouble logging in from home. Let me know if I left anything out or if you need additional help.

Good luck with your speeches!

Margaret

MLA Citation Help

When you write a paper or create a presentation, you must tell your readers or listeners where you found the information you used. This is both to credit the ideas of others and to let your readers or listeners know where to find more information on your topic. (You've created interest with your fine paper or presentation!) The sources listed below will help you follow MLA style, but if you need more help, make a half-hour appointment with the Academic Success Center (formerly known as the Tutoring Center). They are the campus experts!
