Visit the space to work on your project. Staff are available to help answer any movie editing or research questions.

Creating a VR or XR project

You'd like to create a VR or XR project or learning implementation for your classroom. Where do you start?

  1. Identify the learning goals that need to be fulfilled. 

  2. Peruse the list of VR and XR applications for one that fits your learning goal. Feel free to contact a Media Lab staff member for assistance. 

  3. Develop questions or an assignment that assesses whether the students learning the material by using the application(s). 

  4. Determine how, where and when the hardware and application(s) will be used in your class.

  5. Set up a VR or XR session with the Media Lab staff.

How to Quickly Create an Immersive Learning Classroom

Take your class on field trips across distance and time. Or, immerse your class in a captivating performance.

  1. View the list of free VR/XR apps to select an experience appropriate for your class.
  2. Instruct your students to download the app prior to class. 
  3. Check out from the Newtown campus library a cart of low-end virtual reality goggles. 
  4. Students will open the app, place their phone in the goggles and secure the goggles around their face. 
  5. You've created an immersive, memorable learning experience!
