Students will be reviewing chapters 7 & 8 in the book, The Art of Public Speaking, 12th edition by Stephen E. Lucas.
Those chapters discuss how to gather materials for research of an Informative and Persuasive speech and how to effectively support the ideas they will put forth in their speech.
We will be reviewing the major resources available for researching speeches at the library, how to use the internet for research that is efficient and accurate, how to use statistics effectively in a speech, proper use of testimony in a speech and how to judge the reliability of sources, sponsors and statistics when considering them as evidence in a speech.
