Library Database Videos

Use Educational Videos from Library Databases

Off-campus use note: Students off campus will need to log into the databases using their student username and password.

Films on Demand

  • A collection of digital educational videos on a variety of topics.
  • Most videos contain closed captions.
  • You can limit your search to include only those videos with CC.
    • Advanced Search -> Advanced Filters -> Click Show Only CC Films

  • Videos can be embedded in Canvas or  or shared via URL link.

INTELECOM Online Resources Network

  • Contains more than 4,000 streaming video clips in business, health, STEM, nursing, and social and behavioral science disciplines.
  • All video clips contain closed captions.
  • Video clips can be embedded in Canvas or shared via URL link. 

Kanopy (Media Education Foundation) Video Collection 

  • Streaming video collection of documentary films focused on social issues and a selection of award winning motion pictures.

  • Most of the titles include closed captions. If closed captions are not provided, they can be requested and will be provided by the Kanopy support team.

  • Films can be embedded in Canvas or shared via URL link.

 

 

YouTube Videos

Using YouTube Videos

YouTube videos can be embedded into Canvas or provided via a URL link.

Finding Captioned Videos in YouTube

  1. Enter search terms in search box.
  2. Once your search results appear, click the Filter link in the upper left corner of the screen. 
  3. Under features, click Subtitles / CC.
  4. Your revised search results appear restricted to videos that contain closed captions.
  5. If the closed captions have been automatically generated it is a good idea to review  them before using the video.
